Independents rise!

What kind of world do we live in that even when the people of this nation finally start to get behind something, the corrupt still strive to rise to power? The government of the United States of America has sought to undermine the idea of capitalism that it itself has tried to spread so vigorously. At the end of the Bush administration and, of course, the beginning of the Obama administration, America has been forced to waste money on failing companies that deserve to be put out of their misery. In response, patriotic American's have been flocking to anything that will show their disapproval of the current direction of things, willing to latch on to anything that shows the President how poorly they think of this socialist movement. It's beautiful really, even sacred to the American way. It makes me feel like the people have power if we get pissed-off enough...

Then what happens? The GOP get a look at this movement and make a bead line to the front. They are now using this outrage against idiotic government spending to push their agenda, to put pressure against democrats in general, and in the specific defy President Obama. It makes me absolutely sick. What's worse is that we really have no other sources of leadership to turn to. The status quo dictates that there are two parties allowed to run for office; Republican's and Democrats. Both sides are completely corrupted by a) the length of the campaign season and b) the ways in which they get their campaign financing. If anyone doesn't see a problem with this, please feel free to go live in a cave for the next 20 years...

There is a group that sponsors these protest events, dubbed tea parties. They have openly said they will oppose whatever the Obama administration tries to do. .... What possible good could come from not cooperating with a specific leader? All they want to do is get the current president out of office and get easily persuaded American's to vote for a Republican candidate. As an American, I don't care what 'party' gets itself into office; I don't care if the President is male, female, white, black, hispanic, old or young; I don't care if my personal beliefies are conrary to their's. I just want them to start acting for the good of the nation. I want them to believe in justice. I want them to show balance. I want them to give truth.

Anyway, the point of this post is to express the idea that this system is broken. It is so broken in fact that in the world of computer programs, I'd say it needs a re-write. The constitution is about the only thing I would keep; that document feels true, feels intelligent, feels.... American. The majority of the rest of our government today is bureaucracy using duct tape to hold up a steaming pile of fecal matter. I realize that I have no facts on this, I can't quote anyone or anything, and can't even remember the names of the organizations that are taking advantage of the situation. Don't let that dissuade you, the truth is in the world...

Truth is the quickest way to trust...

user name

The user name 'segfault' stems from the computer programming term 'segmentation fault'. I originally found it a good fit for me because my programming code usually generated a lot of segmentation faults. Now I like it for it's actual meaning. A seg fault happens when a process tries to access memory that was not allocated for its use; or reaching beyond your means. To reach beyond what has been given to you can be bad, obviously; it could be considered stealing in the computing world. One process trying to steal the resources of another; which explains why the operating system terminates the violating process. However, I prefer thinking of it as trying to make something more of yourself, trying to grow in a world that says no, or grasping for that which doesn't exist.

Anyway, first post attempted and completed.
